Avera Marshall Auxiliary The Avera Marshall Auxiliary announces five $1,000 scholarships for area students pursuing careers in health care. The application and submission guidelines can be found in local school counselors’ offices and on school websites. The application deadline is Friday, May 6, 2022.
SBA deadline approaching for working capital loans in Minnesota for 2021 drought
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is reminding small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private nonprofit organizations that April 27 is the filing deadline for federal economic injury disaster loans in Minnesota due to drought that began on July 6, 2021.

April is National Fair Housing Month! Fair housing is a growing need and concern within all communities. This is especially true for the victim/ survivors that WRAP works with. WoMen’s Rural Advocacy Programs, Inc. (WRAP) provides advocacy for victim/survivors of domestic abuse and sex trafficking/ exploitation in Lincoln, Lyon, Redwood, and Yellow Medicine Counties.

More moisture moves in this week
Much of the region had some snow on Sunday as a low-pressure system pushed across the state. It was pretty to see but I think many of us are over this winter and want to see the warmer weather settle-in “for good,” or at least until next fall!
