8th Grade World Geography class creates displays

As part of the 8th graders World Geography class at Lakeview Middle School, students had the opportunity to create a display for a country of their choice in Central America or the Caribbean. Students researched and created magnificent display boards complete with physical and cultural features of their country. Students got to travel around to each display and learn about the Central America region.

New energy cooperative subject of recent webinar

Earlier this month, Montevideo-based n CURE (Clean Up the River s Environment) hosted a webinar to spread the . word about a new cooperative solar garden that’s currently in development r in an area West , of Clara City, to benefit Xcel Energy customers in both Yellow Medicine and Chippewa Counties among others. The cooperative solar garden t is being developed by a company called Cooperative Energy Futures that only produces cooperatively owned community solar installations. g “Rather than other models of community solar d projects, they develop community solar projects as member-owned cooperatives,” explains CURE Energy Democracy Program Director g Erik Hatlestad.
