After submitting articles on various dementia topics for almost 9 years, I have never had my newspaper article fall directly on Halloween!

In the last couple of years, Prairie Five has distributed dozens of copies of the book Creating Moments of Joy Along the Alzheimer’s Journey.

As I listened to a caregiver share the frustrating story of taking her loved one living with dementia on a trip, I had a few flashbacks of similar stories and situations I’ve heard and even experienced myself.

This is the last chapter of Galatians; our sixth of six columns in the series.

In my last article, I began sharing the various stages of Alzheimer’s Disease as outlined in the book entitled, “Mayo Clinic on Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias.” We learned that Mayo recognizes Alzheimer’s disease as a continuum that can be divided into roughly 5 stages.
