At last Tuesday's meeting of the Yellow Medicine County Board of Commissioners, Yel - low Medicine County Restorative Justice Coor - dinator Sharon Hendrichs presented a report on the Restorative Justice De - partment's previous year. Hendrichs noted that the program includes Cir - cle Sentencing, Family & Community Circle, Cir - cle of Hope, Shift Circle, Transition Circle, and Family Safety Planning Meeting/Parallel Protec - tion Process.

Mock accident warns students of dangers with texting and driving
Last week, Lakeview Students witnessed a mock accident hosted by the Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD) organization, with help from local emergency services agencies including Cottonwood Ambulance, Cottonwood Fire, Lyon County Sheriu, and North Me morial Air Link. The event is designed to provide an insight into the dangers of texting and driving.

Beanbag tournament scheduled in honor of former Clarkfield resident
The family of Ariel Sakry is planning a memorial beanbag tournament not only to remember and honor Ariel, but to help raise awareness about domestic violence. Ariel, who grew up in Clarkfield, and attended Yellow Medicine East High School, was just 25 years old when she was shot and killed by her husband Isaac Malone in April, 2022.

Lyon County Board approves 3,250 funding request from PCLS
By Per Peterson Tracy Area Headlight Herald The Lyon County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday approved a funding request from the Plum Creek Library System in the amount of $3,250. PCLS receives funding from the State through Regional Library System Support and Regional Library Telecom Aid.
