Velde appointed to Center for Rural Policy and Development
Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan today announced the following appointments to the Board of the Perpich Center for Arts Education, Board of Water and Soil Resources, Center for Rural Policy and Development, Home Care Orientation Trust, and the State of Minnesota Board of Public Defense.

Poetry Bus to roll into Granite Falls for a day of pop-up poems and community connection
Granite Falls has been chosen as the first stop on a week-long poetic journey through the southwestern Minnesota region by the Poetry Bus. However, don’t expect to see an actual bus pulling into town, as the “Poetry Bus” is a metaphor - a name adopted by a group of four Minnesota based poets who are hitting the road with the mission of bringing poetry to everyday spaces.

Ridgewater College would like to acknowledge those students earning recognition on the Dean’s lists for Spring semester 2025. To be included on the Dean’s list, a student must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and be enrolled in at least nine credits and meet certain other criteria.

Muggy weekend on the way
Most of central and west central Minnesota had cloud over and rain on Saturday. However, I was in the Crosslake area on Saturday for a family reunion, and we enjoyed picture perfect weather in northern Minnesota!
