Prairie Five Meals receives Community Impact Grant
The Prairie Five Meals program of Prairie Five Community Action Council, Inc. has been awarded a community impact grant from the United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWS- WMN) of $8,000. These funds will help ouset the cost of providing meals to the older adult population thereby promoting healthy and independent living through improved nutrition and reduced so- cial isolation. This work aligns with UWSWMN’s hunger priority area.

Autumn Experience Series: Nelson Farm
When polled on social media, a number of local community members said one of the trips they make annually in the fall is to the Nelson Farm near Litchfield. 2022 marks its 33rd Annual Pumpkin Patch festival that is open to all ages.

Fulfilling her dad’s dream
Honor Flight guardian visits Vietnam Veterans Memorial Courtesy of the Marshall Independent Kelly Josephson-Harriger decided to go the extra mile in memory of her father, who served his country as a soldier in Vietnam. She volunteered to be a guardian on the Midwest Honor Flight, which transports veterans to Washington D.C.
