Lee sentenced for firearm incident in Clarkfield

Christopher Lee, a former Chief of Police with Upper Sioux Community Police Department, was sentenced in Yellow Medicine County Court October 5th for an incident that occurred in his home in Clarkfield last April. Additional charges of a second count of discharging a firearm, as well as charges of assault and domestic assault were dismissed. Lee pled guilty to one of the counts of discharging a firearm in a municipality after the police were called to Lee’s home on a report of a gunshot being fired. The criminal complaint filed with the courts stated that Lee was attempting to enter a locked bedroom occupied by another resident of his home, and that after failed attempts of kicking the door to open it, shot a pistol through the door. The other resident of the home, at the time, was standing on the opposite side of the door.
