Newly opened Veterans Memorial room in museum
Last fall, Minnesota’s Machinery Museum in Hanley Falls received a grant from the Granite Falls Area Community Foundation to help with the installation of a new Veterans Memorial room in the museum. Included in the room are newspapers from various war-time eras, medals, postcards sent home from soldiers and more. Uniforms belonging to area soldiers from throughout every era are on display as well. The museum is open through September 15th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Lee-Mar Ranch Equine Center brings horses to seniors for visits

Those in the local area may remember the name Curtis Warnke from his 27 years publishing the Wood Lake News, or they may remember him for being the youngest person elected to Legislature in Minnesota, or they may remember him for his gun and tackle shop where he would challenge customers to a game of cards to determine the cost of their purchase.

Clarkfield Area Charter School closes
The Clarkfield Area Charter School board knew that enrollment was going to be a challenge, as the Clarkfield community, as well as the county’s population, has become smaller, and so for a while, talks have been taking place about the possible need to close the school.
