Local students graduate from Lake Area Tech
Lake Area Technical College The 55th Annual Lake Area Technical College graduation ceremony was held Friday, May 13, 2022, with seven hundred sixty-three graduates. The following local students were presented their diplomas by Bryon Noem, First Gentleman of South Dakota, and Mike Cartney, President of Lake Area Tech.
DNR urges people to leave deer fawns alone
Minnesota Department of Natural Resources The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources asks that people avoid disturbing or touching deer fawns, which are born around this time of year. Most fawns are born in mid-May to mid-June, and fawns do not attempt to evade predators during their first few weeks of life.

I’m a list maker. Every surface of my desks is covered in lists, the notes app in my phone has seven or eight lists going at any time, there’s lists in notes on my laptop, and even sometimes, lists are written in ink on the steering wheel of my car (yes, this drives my husband nuts). It also drives my sister nuts that I don’t consolidate all lists onto the notes app on my phone, where I could keep my life more in order. She fails to recognize that this chaotic collection of lists IS my version of organized.

Students celebrate last day of school

Dear Editor, Minnesota drivers have faced record-high gas prices in the last few months. But like many of today’s most pressing challenges, Minnesota’s farmers and agricultural industry hold the key to helping solve them.
Lakeview Principals report year-end activities to Board
Lakeview High School Principal Scott Hanson provided an end of the year update to the school board at its May meeting. He shared information about finals as well as iPad turn in for the school year.

Lakeview students compete in MathCounts competition
Tate Remiger, Adrian Lewison, Teegan Fiene, Gideon Basel competed in the SouthWest Minnesota MathCounts Competition online in February along with fifty students in ten teams. Two storms last week leave behind flooding, wind damage
Six inches of heavy rain from the back-to-back storms last week created flooded fields north of Cottonwood. The area was also in a tornado watch during that time frame. Hagen Drive (pictured) in the north end of Wood Lake was flooded after two thunderstorms drenched the area with over six inches of rain last week.
