Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota’s LSS Meals and Meals on Wheels receives Community Impact Grant
The Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota’s LSS Meals and Meals on Wheels program has been granted $10,000 by the United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) as a community impact grant. This funding will assist in providing meals for low-income seniors who are unable to contribute financially. This initiative is in line with UWSWMN’s Healthy Communities focus area.
New staff changes at Lakeview
At the September 15 Lakeview School Board Meeting, the following administrative reports were made, including several staff changes. Lakeview Elementary Principal Corey talked about hiring new staff.

18th annual Heart of the Prairie Run/Walk held
The eighteenth annual Heart of the Prairie Run/Walk was held on September 13th as part of Belview’s Old Sod Day. The twenty-four entrants were blessed with a beautiful fall morning to participate in either the 2k, 5k or 8k event. Particpants were from Minnesota and South Dakota. Medals were awarded to the top three men and women winners in the 5k and 8k (there were no women in the 8k). The top three in the 2k were also given medals.

Fall officially arrives Monday
Some record or near record high temperatures were found on Sunday across Minnesota. Many spots hit the low 90s.
