SMSU Theatre Season opens with two shows
SMSU Theatre’s 55th season opens with not one, but two shows: The Taming by Lauren Gunderson, and The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare. The two shows will alternate performances. The Taming runs October 20, 28, and 29 at 7:30 pm, and Oct. 22 at 2:00 pm. The Taming of the Shrew runs October 21 and 22 at 7:30 pm and October 29 and 30 at 2:00 pm. All performances are in the SMSU Fine Arts Theatre, with free parking available in lot B-1. Tickets are $10 and available at www.SMSUtickets.com as well as at the door. All performances are free to SMSU students with valid student ID.
Lakers fall to TMB, RCW
The Lakers volleyball team took on RCW for a 1-3 loss last week.Later in the week, the team took on Tracy-Milroy-Balaton or a 0-3 loss. .

Lakers Football defeats Minneota 30-13
The Lakeview Lakers defeated Minneota 30-13 Friday night. In the first quarter, Laker Taiven Isaackson scored a touchdown from 14 yards just 3:20 into the game. By the end of the first quarter, the Lakers led 6-0. In the second quarter, Nathan Fenske scored a touchdown after a 68yard pass from Owen Louwagie to bring the Lakers to a 12-7 lead with 10:33 left. Shortly after, Fenske scored a touchdown after a 31yard pass from Louwagie, followed shortly after by a 13-yard touchdown run by Clayton Kosel bringing the score by halftime to 24-7.
Schwankl takes first place at Invitational
The Lakeview Cross Country girls and boys teams traveled to the MACCRAY/RCW Invitational last Thursday with Lakeview girls team taking the third place spot with a final points tally of 50 at Stoney Creek Golf Course.
Lakeview hosts two foreign exchange students
Two foreign exchange students joined the Lakeview School District this year. Matheus Olsson, Grade 11, from Sweden is involved in Football this Fall.
Annual Heart of the Prairie run held
The fifteenth annual Heart of the Prairie Run/ Walk was held September 17, the morning of Belview’s Old SOD Day. It was a success run event with 41 participants - 8 in the 2K, 29 in the 5K, and 4 in the 8K.
Lakeview Volleyball takes on Lac qui Parle Valley

The Lakers took on MACCRAY for their Homecoming football game Friday evening, ending the game with a 67-28 victory. Leaders in the game included Clayton Kosel, who scored 136 rushing yards, with two touchdowns on six carries.
