SMSU Theatre Season opens with two shows

SMSU Theatre’s 55th season opens with not one, but two shows: The Taming by Lauren Gunderson, and The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare. The two shows will alternate performances. The Taming runs October 20, 28, and 29 at 7:30 pm, and Oct. 22 at 2:00 pm. The Taming of the Shrew runs October 21 and 22 at 7:30 pm and October 29 and 30 at 2:00 pm. All performances are in the SMSU Fine Arts Theatre, with free parking available in lot B-1. Tickets are $10 and available at www.SMSUtickets.com as well as at the door. All performances are free to SMSU students with valid student ID.

Lakers Football defeats Minneota 30-13

The Lakeview Lakers defeated Minneota 30-13 Friday night. In the first quarter, Laker Taiven Isaackson scored a touchdown from 14 yards just 3:20 into the game. By the end of the first quarter, the Lakers led 6-0. In the second quarter, Nathan Fenske scored a touchdown after a 68yard pass from Owen Louwagie to bring the Lakers to a 12-7 lead with 10:33 left. Shortly after, Fenske scored a touchdown after a 31yard pass from Louwagie, followed shortly after by a 13-yard touchdown run by Clayton Kosel bringing the score by halftime to 24-7.
