Lakeview area student receives MSU Moorhead scholarship
Brooke Mauland, Cottonwood, Minn., has received the Biology Alumni & Faculty End Scholarship for $1,000 from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Brooke is a graduate of Lakeview High School. Brooke’s parents are Phil and Amy Mauland.
Jake Smith wins Midwest Modified Special at Fiesta City Speedway
Twenty-four Midwest Modifieds came to Fiesta City Speedway for the 20 lap, $1000 to win feature. Cody Hatch led the entire Pure Stock feature for his third win of the season.
Lakeview Trap Team competes in Alexandria Championship
After 9 days of competition, 340 schools, and 7,900 competitors – Lakeview ended up 30th which qualifies us for the MSHSL State Tournament in Prior Lake on Friday. The Top 40 teams coming out of the Championship are the ones who qualify. This is exciting news!

Minnesota West announces spring 2022 Dean’s List
Minnesota West Community & Technical College, announces the Spring Semester 2022 Dean’s List and congratulates the following students for their outstanding academic achievement. Students must be enrolled in at least 12 graded credits and earn a minimum 3.5 grade point average to be eligible for Dean’s List Honors. Spring 2022 Dean’s List Honors were extended to the following students from Minnesota West Community & Technical College:
SMSU Spring 2022 semester Dean’s List
Southwest Minnesota State University announces the students recognized for academic achievement during the spring 2022 semester. An undergraduate student who completes 12 or more A-F graded credits and achieves a grade point average of 3.5 or higher will be considered for the Honors Dean’s List.
Lakeview students compete at State Track meet
Ethan Schwankl finished 8th place in his 800 meter run with a time of 1:59.53. His time day the day before was fast enough to reset his School Record Time at 1:58.46. Ethan also set a new personal best in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:34.24. This time finished 13 of 17 runners at the State Meet.

Lakeview Lakers are Section 3A Champions
Last week, the Lakeview Golf team traveled to the Worthington Golf Course for the Section 3A Tournament. The two day event totals were: Lakeview 668 Minneota 736 HLOF/WWG 742 Adrian/Ellsworth 746 Individual Results follow: Carson Boe: 147 (75-72) Champion Ethan Schwankl 167 (86-81) Third Place Cole Arends 177 (85-92) Parker Geistfeld 188 (100-88) Lane Arends 189 (89-100) Trey Helmke 202 (99-103) The State Golf Meet is June 14th and 15th at Pebble Creek in Becker.
