Summer-like weather this week
So many people have been commenting to me this past week, that “we have gone from winter-like weather right into summer-like weather!” We have seen warmer temperatures and even some thunderstorms along the way across the state over the past week. These warmer temperatures and windy conditions have helped to dry things out a bit for the farmers, but it has also created some wildfire concerns.

Lakeview Trap team battles through windy, rainy weather
With the weather less that cooperative (for anyone) the Lakeview trap team has had a rough start to their 2022 spring season. Having to cancel the first 3 Thursdays of the season due to inclement weather with additional postponements and rescheduling, getting into a rhythm has been a daunting task. March 27th marked the start of the 2022 spring season. With 2 weeks of practice and 1 reserve week the week of April 17th was the 1st week of competition for the Lakeview Trap Team.

Beyond Reason
Cinco de Mayo is, for those with a limited grasp of Spanish, just a date on the calendar. Don’t be alarmed. This is the one day of the year that is in the Spanish. Cinco de Mayo means, try to stay with me here… the Fifth of May. On this day, many Americans pile into authentic Mexican restaurants in America. They will tell you that Cinco de Mayo is Mexican Independence Day. Do not believe these people. They have been drinking. Some are even drunk. Mexican Independence Day is the 16th of September, which ironically starts at midnight on the 15th of September. Never heard of it? That’s because you’re American, you live in the United States of American, and you do not celebrate other countries independence from other, other countries. Unless they serve alcohol. Then perhaps you can make an exception.
