Laker girls basketball fans had fat heads made for the varsity team this year. These fans held it for the game cheering McKenzy Grunewald on.

Last Tuesday, the Laker boys took on CMCS for a 65-57 victory. Complete scoring follows (individual scoring was not available at print time): Lakeview (14-2) 32 33 — 65 CMCS (12-3) 28 29 — 57 On Friday, the Laker boys took on Dawson-Boyd for a 67-48 victory at home.

The Mystiques High Kick Team participated in a meet in Canby last weekend. KAREN BERG The Mystiques Jazz team took third place at the Canby tournament over the weekend.

Last Monday, the Laker girls took on Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg in a home game for a final score of 35-61. Leaders in the game included Paige Viaene who scored 16 points toward the team total. Scoring was as follows:

On Friday, two of the Lakeview Mystique dance team's dancers were selected to the Camden All-Conference team at the Conference Meet in Canby. They are Kayleigh Albertson: All-Conference in Kick & Jazz and Julia Sterner: All-Conference in Jazz. KAREN BERG

The Laker Girls BB team hosted their 2nd Annual Alumni Game. We had 48 former Lady Lakers come back and compete in a skills challenge and a game. Team Blue, Coached by Lisa Gregoire, was comprised of graduates from 1994-2009. Team White, Coached by Mike Imes and Wayne Louwagie, were former players from 2010-2021. It was a great night to get all these former players back on the court and reminisce about their high school days. The night was also a tribute to former Laker B squad coach Larry “Nellie” Nelson. Larry coached for Lakeview from 1991- 2009. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach for Echo-Wood Lake. Lots of tributes by former players and coaches helped to honor a Laker great. Nellie was a wonderful coach who truly cared about his players and was instrumental in all the success the Lady Laker GBB program has had.

The Varsity kick team scored 14th place out of 18 competitors. KAREN BERG The JV Jazz group placed 9th out of 12 competitors at the YME competition.
